On his birthday, a resident of Coventry care facility witnessed Sky Blues win 2-1.
A COVENTRY care home resident won a birthday trip to the CBS Arena to watch the Sky Blues.
Brian Austin has always supported Coventry City and currently resides in the Victoria Mews care facility operated by HC-One.
Employees at the residence got in touch with the squad and managed to get Brain a ticket for the most recent match, which coincided with his birthday week, versus Leeds United.
Upon receiving the ticket along with his birthday card, he went to the game with Vicki Melia, the deputy manager, and they witnessed Coventry defeat the opposition 2-1.
“This was the best birthday present ever,” Brian said. “I had a great day and the stadium hospitality was great.”
“I really appreciate Vicki taking the time to be so kind and take me to the match. Thank you very much.”
Brian stated that the 1987 FA Cup victory was his favorite Sky Blues memory.
In 1945, he attended his first baseball game with his father. It was also the first game he had attended since World War II.
“It was a great experience taking Brian back to see his beloved Coventry City, especially since it was his birthday and even better to see a Sky Blues win,” said Vicki Melia, deputy manager of the Victoria Mews care facility.
“A fundamental component of our people-focused approach to care is fulfilling our residents’ wishes, so we’re happy to hear that Brian had such a great time.”
