Sporting director wants to travel abroad and discloses that the Leeds United target will depart on a free transfer.
Shortly after Leeds United was mentioned as a potential destination, the sports director of one of the largest clubs in Europe has just revealed that one of his team’s players will be leaving on a free agent this summer.
This summer’s transfer window is anticipated to be active for Leeds as Daniel Farke attempts to bolster his team. Leeds’s choice of player will depend on the outcome on Sunday and if the team gets promoted.
Germany defender Marius Wolf is one player the team is apparently planning to attempt to recruit if Leeds wins their match against Southampton on Sunday at Wembley and makes an immediate return to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old will soon be entering the last month of his contract and will likely start on the bench for Dortmund on June 1 against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Another match scheduled to take place at Wembley. Wolf is scheduled to leave Dortmund on a free transfer, and Ruhr Nachrichten has confirmed Wolf’s departure by quoting Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund’s sporting director.
Sebastian Kehl says Marius Wolf, a target for Leeds, will depart.
Wolf is reportedly a target for Farke’s team if the Yorkshire team is promoted back to the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Wembley, according to reports that surfaced earlier this week.
In contrast to the legendary Brazilian Cafu, Wolf has managed to play in six of Dortmund’s twelve Champions games this season and 31 games overall. Wolf has, however, only made two starts across those six games.
