The race for the Championship title and automatic promotion to the Premier League took another turn on Tuesday night as Leicester City smashed Southampton 5-0 – widening the gap on Leeds United.

Despite having different forms coming into the match at The Riverside on Monday night, Leeds defeated Middlesbrough 4-3, proving to everyone that Daniel Farke’s team is still very much in the running for the title.

Tuesday night’s matchup was Southampton vs. Leicester, with the Saints needing to win to maintain any slim aspirations of finishing in the top two. However, they were unable to do so, as Leicester was running wild.

For the first hour of the match, it was quite close. Abdul Fatawu gave Leicester the lead with the first goal on minute twenty-five. Although Saints had opportunities, Leicester appeared to be certain to win all three points.
