NFL rumors: In light of Kirk Cousins’ uncertain future, the Vikings’ eye-opening contract position
The quarterback situation is a problem for the two clubs at the bottom of the NFC North, while other teams like the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers excelled in the postseason. Caleb Williams or Justin Fields must be developed by the Chicago Bears, while the Minnesota Vikings’ playcaller position is also up in the air. Kirk Cousins, Josh Dobbs, and Nick Mullens all played for them. One of them may no longer be involved.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer mentioned that Kirk Cousins might be released by the Vikings in the summer. Their inability to make the same mistakes they did in previous years has kept them out of contention for the title in significant part
Entering its third season, the current Minnesota brass has expressed a strong liking for Cousins, but they have also made it plain that they will not follow the previous administration’s two prior moves and provide Cousins a fully guaranteed contract. In the absence of that, Cousins is now prepared to enter the market, just as he did six years prior, albeit with more age and injuries, he wrote.
The last time Cousins played for the Vikings was against the Packers. He completed the game with 274 passing yards, good for two touchdowns for his squad. Their Achilles injury cost them the game, keeping him out of the game for the remainder of the campaign. Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullens took over there, but their chances of making the playoffs were rapidly dashed in the fall.
