Leeds United prepare to ‘finalise transfer’ as bold promotion claim made
As the new season gets closer, keep up with all the latest information and rumors on transfers involving Sunderland’s Championship rivals.
After losing out on Liam Rosenior, it is rumored that Sunderland is once more in the hunt for a new manager, this time talking to Regis Le Bris about the position. The process of choosing a new manager to succeed Michael Beale has been incredibly frustrating for the Black Cats, but they are hopeful that in the next few days, the matter will be resolved.
Of course, Sunderland is falling behind its competitors in terms of player acquisition in the absence of a manager, but there is still plenty of time to bring in players before the new campaign begins. We have compiled the most recent information about the Championship in the interim.
Hutton on Skip deal
Oliver Skipp of Tottenham
is a star player, and former Premier League player Alan Hutton believes Leeds United will sign him. He stated: “I believe so. Knowing the manager is usually beneficial, and you can choose a club where you can rapidly become accustomed to the environment and get to know the players before the season begins.
“We are discussing a large Leeds team who almost missed promotion, and that will be their focus for the upcoming campaign. To be very honest, I don’t think he will be a regular for Tottenham going forward because I believe they have too many choices at number eight.
To be fair, he does a decent job when he arrives, but find him a place where he can play and feel comfortable.
Midfielder Marc Roca,
who just signed during their final Premier League season, is one of the deals Leeds will be making. Leeds and Real Betis are about to reach an agreement for the midfield player to move permanently to Andalusia, according to Diario de Sevilla.
Roca played on loan for Betis during the previous season, helping the Sevillan team qualify for Europe. It appears that he will now become a permanent member of the team and depart Leeds with just 32 league games under his belt.
Palmer on promotion candidates
Well in advance of the upcoming Championship campaign, Carlton Palmer made an intriguing prediction about promotion. “It’s very early to start making predictions on who will get promoted from the Championship,” he said to Football League World. In my opinion, the three teams that were demoted this year are not as good as the three teams that were demoted from the Premier League the previous year.
“If you compare the three promoted teams—Leicester, Southampton, and Ipswich—I would include Leeds in that group even though they were not promoted because they were so good. Chris Wilder will have a lot of work to do at Sheffield United in the summer, in my opinion, as he cannot act until this takeover is finalized.
“I think Burnley has terrific players and they’re going to be there or thereabouts because they have parachute money, so you have to look at them. If Luton can hold onto Rob Edwards, they’ll be extremely strong next season. Leeds will go up if they score 90 points this season once more, as Southampton, Ipswich, and Leicester will all move up.
“If Rob Edwards continues, I will back Leeds to win the promotion, and I will back Luton to return as soon as possible. However, I will not support Sheffield United because I believe they have too much work ahead of them before the season begins. Burnley ought to be there or quite close there, but if
