The mayor of Marseille has demanded that his city’s football club do not sign Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.
Mason Greenwood, a forward for Manchester United, cannot be signed by Marseille’s football team, per the mayor’s demand.
Wood was suspended by United after being accused of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault. He spent the previous season on loan at Getafe.
In addition to a shift in controllership of Old Trafford to INEOS, the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew the charges, casting considerable doubt on Greenwood’s long-term future at United.
Greenwood can now go to Marseille for a medical examination and talk about his personal terms.
Benoit Payan, the mayor of Marseille, declared that if Greenwood were to sign with the French team, it would be “unacceptable”.
A substantial sell-on provision, estimated to be worth between 40 and 50 percent of the deal, has been included by United.
