Following WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes talks about the mystery item that The Rock gave him on WWE Raw.
Cody Rhodes has reflected on his previous encounter with The Rock in the ring.
After winning the Undisputed Championship from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, The American Nightmare made an appearance in front of the Raw after Mania audience. The Hollywood actor interrupted the program, giving Rhodes the impression that he was going to carry on the celebrations with the spectators.
After momentarily switching belts, Rock confronted Rhodes once more while holding The People’s Championship, which had been given to him at the Hall of Fame event. After that, Rock gave Rhodes something that was not visible on camera. Rhodes already knows what this thing is, according to Rock, so don’t break his heart again. As of this writing, it is still unclear what the Undisputed Champion received on the Raw following Mania.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Rhodes was asked by Bully Ray about the angle on the Raw after Mania:
It wasn’t worth a penny. That was definitely not the price. I have a great deal of respect for The Rock and the Seven Bucks crew, so I tried to extend a helpful hand and an olive branch to them. I can eat at the table that they have arranged. He returned it to me after deciding it was not a good overture.
Bully [Ray], that’s all I have to offer. Although I was shocked that it had returned, Triple H informed me that these men aren’t exactly having fun. You have to prepare yourself or else they will come for you.
Rhodes went on to talk about The Rock’s eventual comeback.
“If we’re comparing this to Star Wars, I think we may be past the Jedi at this time. This is how I feel about someone like The Rock. It’s below there, I know that. I am aware that the People’s Champion is within. Growing up, I was the biggest lover of Rock. I’m certain he’s inside. That was not what came back. The Final Boss is with us. The curse was on us. When you compare him to most wrestlers of the day, even just in terms of height and athletic prowess, he is incredibly tough and formidable.
