JUST IN;West Ham agree terms with Grealish lite
According to reports originating from Turkey, Jota Silva, whose contract with Vitoria Guimaraes includes a £17 million release clause, and West Ham United have reached a personal terms agreement. The Jose Mourinho-managed Fenerbahce is reportedly interested in the forward, but it seems the Hammers will be able to get him.
The same day, news broke that Kyle Walker-Peters, the right-back for Southampton, had also decided to sign with West Ham. This begs the question of whether the Irons are concluding deals with players without first obtaining agreements with their respective clubs, or if there is no truth to these rumors at all.
The two-cap Portugal international Jota Silva is typically a left winger but can also play as a striker or on the right, giving West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui a great deal of options. Roberto Martinez, the coach of Portugal’s national team, has been impressed by the 24-year-old’s versatility and work ethic.
Jota is an exceptional athlete. His adaptability, diligence, and spirit of competition are impressive. His experience in the second division has given him unique attributes. I’ve been following his recent performances closely, and as we all know, luck counts in football. Jota is having a terrific time and deserved to be called up to the national squad.
A squad with a positive dynamic has players like Jota on it. For those who did not make it onto the youth national teams but have progressed to earn a berth in the senior team, he serves as an inspiration. He leads by example.
Silva has been dubbed “the Portuguese Jack Grealish,” most likely because of his trademark headgear rather than any antics that occurred off the field.
