Manuel Ugarte (23), a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, is attracting strong interest from Manchester United. As reported by L’Équipe, the Premier League side have already seen one bid rejected, however, they are continuing their pursuit.
After spending €60 million to join PSG from Sporting last summer, Ugarte gradually lost his starting spot in Luis Enrique’s squad despite his early success in the midfield of Les Parisiens. His playing time decreased as the season went on, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
PSG is not against Ugarte leaving this summer, as it is believed that Luis Enrique views the player as possessing too little. Fabrizio Romano reports that although Manchester United’s initial bid for Ugarte was turned down, the Red Devils are still in negotiations to acquire the player. The two teams resumed communication on Friday, with PSG hoping to recover the majority of the €60 million they paid for the midfield player in the previous summer.
Despite the lack of Champions League action at Old Trafford, the Uruguay international, who is attracting interest from other teams, is open to joining Manchester United this summer.
