Eric Dier‘s loan move to Bayern Munich will be made permanent in the summer, according to David Ornstein.

Dier initially joined Bayern on loan from Tottenham until the end of the 2023-24 season.

But with the 30-year-old’s Spurs contract coming to an end in June, he was set to become a free agent.

However, the Bavarian club have triggered an option to give him a one-year deal that will expire in 2025.

This means that the centre-back’s Tottenham career is officially over after 10 years at the club.

He was an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side that challenged for the Premier League title in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

“There have been rumours linking him with Man United but that’s an obvious link to make as he has a good connection with Erik ten Hag going back to their Ajax days, but guys there’s nothing in this so far. Man United’s business in the summer transfer market will depend on the new director of football.

“We are still waiting for an announcement on that, so it’s too early to say or speculate on whether the Red Devils will make a move for De Ligt.

“Arsenal are looking into defenders for the summer it’s true, but their preferred targets are not something that’s been decided upon yet either.”
